About Us

If your interest in the Fellowship includes more than just what we have to offer, then you've come to the right page. Here's where you'll find out a little bit about our history and what our goals are for the future. We've also included links to information about each of our main volunteers, including information on the most recent writers for the newsletter. Also see our Statement of Faith and Privacy Statement.

Mission Statement

An international network of Christian cooks and chefs fellowshipping together for the purpose of encouraging and helping members grow closer to Jesus and to each other so that we may greater glorify God in all that we do and say.

History of CCF

God initiated the idea for an international Christ-based fellowship of cooks and chefs back in 1997, at the campus Christian club of the Culinary Institute of America. A few members of the club were discussing how great it would be to have a fellowship for cooks that expanded wider than just the campus we were on. The seed was then planted, and the thoughts of such a group sounded great. Even though nobody knew exactly how it would be done, we knew that if God willed it, He would do it some way or another. Time went on, and through the use of free webspace, CCF's website launched in January of 1998! By this time, the entire initial group that had discussed it on that one occasion had moved away from each other, but one willing person (Ira Krizo) was enough for God to start with. For the next few months, as webprogramming was being studied, there was lots of prayer and thought going on about what God actually desired for the Fellowship.

Up until July, there were only two members of the Fellowship; but through them God started to get the Fellowship off the ground. Then in late July, God allowed the Fellowship to begin growing rapidly. By e-mailing every Christian cook we could find, our membership grew to 62 by October 1st, which was when our first newsletter was sent out. God then graciously provided us with a volunteer professional proofreader, Mrs. Carol Pinson. By the October 15th newsletter, we had rapidly grown to 100 members!

Since then we have been growing like crazy, with more going on every month. To see our most recent changes and additions, check the introductions of our latest newsletters (much improved from our first one!). You can also visit our homepage to see what all we have to offer through our website, newsletters, message boards, and more.

Future of CCF

CCF is still a fairly new organization, and we can envision God doing a great many more things in the near and not so near future, not only to benefit Christian cooks and chefs, but also to reach out to non-Christian cooks and chefs as well as the kitchens they work in.

Below are a few of the actual programs we see God working with CCF to get started. If you would like information on helping with or seeing how we're progressing with any of these, please e-mail us at CCF@ChristianChefs.org.

  • CCF Paraphernalia: May be starting very soon; including shirts, chefs jackets, caps, etc. with our embroidered logo
  • Christian Culinary School and/or Apprenticeship: Training Christians both spiritually and with skills necessary to follow God's will for their lives
  • Christian Chefs Fellowship magazine: Since not all people are able to receive our free online newsletter
  • Local groups: Helping other Christian cooks and chefs start Christian culinary groups/Bible-studies in your local area
  • Christian Chefs Cooking Show: Made available to Christian TV stations
