| Responsibilities | Meal Preparation: Prepare and serve daily meals (lunch and dinner) for staff/students during the school year and property guests during Summer and weekend events, as needed.
Menu Planning: Develop varied, nutritious, and appealing menus that consider dietary needs/restrictions, student demographics, and seasonal availability, ensuring high-quality food within budget constraints.
Dietary Accommodations: Manage and prepare meals for common and specific dietary needs, including but not limited to, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and severe allergy restrictions, to ensure the safety of all individuals.
Food Quality: Ensure all food is prepared and presented to the highest standards of quality, taste, safety, and freshness.
Inventory Control: Maintain accurate, real-time tracking of all food and supply inventory, conducting regular physical counts (e.g., weekly) and reconciling stock against usage and purchase records.
Ordering: Manage the weekly ordering of all necessary food, beverages, and kitchen supplies from approved vendors, focusing on optimizing purchasing for cost-effectiveness, quality, and minimizing waste.
Cost Tracking & Budget Adherence: Strictly track all expenditures against the approved weekly budget for food and supplies, providing weekly cost reports to the Property Director and proactively adjusting menus or purchasing strategies to maintain fiscal responsibility.
Receiving & Storage: Oversee the proper receiving, rotation (First-In, First-Out - FIFO), and secure storage of all deliveries in refrigerated, frozen, and dry storage areas.
Health Department Compliance: Ensure proper adherence to ALL local and state health department guidelines and regulations at all times. This includes maintaining proper food holding temperatures, cross-contamination prevention, and personal hygiene standards.
Deep Cleaning Schedule: Execute and document a rigorous cleaning schedule, including daily, weekly, and monthly deep cleaning of the entire prep kitchen and work area. This includes sanitizing all food contact surfaces, appliances, floors, walls, ventilation hoods, and storage areas.
Waste Management: Implement effective strategies for minimizing food waste and ensuring the correct disposal of waste, grease, and recyclables.
Equipment Maintenance: Report any faulty or damaged kitchen equipment immediately and perform light, routine maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation of all tools and appliances.
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the Property Director |

| Other Details | We are camp property (Sakanaga) owned and operated by OneLife Institute, a 9-month Christian Gap Year & Discipleship Program (August - May). We house/feed the Gap Year students (35-50 total) and their staff during the school year, as well as offering a wedding/event venue to the community on weekends and during the Summer months. We are located on 65 acres in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Marietta, SC. We are looking for someone to join our team in the role of Food Services Coordinator and in our mission of creating and launching Servant Leaders who live out their faith in every aspect of their life.
