...Worry about me! Is something I say often at work. In our position of Chef we are all that and more...as you all well know. But in the focus I share a little encouragement. As everything is in the Word, I recently shared this message with my staff. As we battle against *powers and principalities* ( Eph 6:12) in our lives as spiritual beings, in a physical world in the world we also battle against an unseen enemy...called Pathogens...the all encompassing term for anything that could hurt, damage, sicken or even kill us...similar huh? That battle calls us to a position of strength and power in dealing with that. In righteousness we call upon all the tools Our Father gave us in Jesus...the complete armor and the Sword of the Spirit ( His Word)to do battle. In our battle against all the pathogens that exist we use knowledge, tools, and leadership to make that a base for all we do. In our responsibilities to those whom we serve and to those who serves with us it is the way not only that we show the Love but the way we insure our existence not only physically but economically. Incidents can damage our reputations, and even end our jobs along with the income and jobs of others. OK tough talk...but true nonetheless. While in Romans 8:37-39 we are edified in the knowledge that none of those *things* ( powers principalities etc.) can separate us from the Love of God in Christ Jesus, we also must take that confidence and attitude into our workplace. Yes we must be strong and tough…but so is the Love we live in...the Love of Jesus was *tough* Love...As leaders we professional edifiers we have to be...we expect greatness from our people and they respond in kind. As we seek out our own potential in Christ we lead by our testimony of that. The Statement we make concerning Food Safety is that It is Non-negotiable. And from that position we walk in what we do. As a Chef builds say a sauce they start from a base and build on it... if the pot or pan is dirty or not sanitized...well the outcome doesn’t matter! If the plating is done on plates that were not cleaned properly ....OK you get the drift and I know you do... This is an encouragement to you...as leaders and witnesses to what is right in the world and in what is right in eternity. I encourage you to encourage your people you work with...your team and your Lord...As you lift Him up lift those around you up. Lifting people to a higher level is not only a leader’s privilege, it is our responsibility. Remember permission for another person to succeed can only come from someone in authority...Chefs are that person to those in your sphere of influence...Others can encourage, but permission comes only from an authority figure...Does not Our Father do that for us? Others encourage but the freedom of choices and permission to enter into relationship comes from Him. Even in this earth you don't just walk up to a king or queen ...you ask for and receive permission to enter into their presence. Jesus says "Come to me" many times in the Word...Permission is granted. As followers we emulate Him and all that He is...as you are the *star* in the Kitchen, be that light and build your relationships from that...From the basis of His Love and the basis of Food Safety in the Kitchen. We are to have a healthy *Fear of God* in our walks...”Don't worry about the Health department...Worry about me” Because I will stand on those standards as the minimum of what I do in the workplace...and shoot for a higher goal...for His glory and to testify on how much I am Loved and how much I Love... I pray you are encouraged!------------------ Hungry for Him, Leo Griego Member Support leo@christianchefs.org Work webpage: www.nashvillerescuemission.org IP: Logged |
