Hello there My name is Maria & I am new and I would love to know more about other Chefs and there first time becoming a chef. I am scared but I am doing it. I love food and I love when I see people eat the food the look on there faces when they are happy eating it. And to me they look like they are in heaven when they take a bite of what we make for them. I would love to have a Mentor because I am scared and I would like to finish and go through my dream and that is making people happy when they eat my food. ------------------ Maria Moore IP: Logged |

Sister... Learn to walk well, then jog, then run! Don't be intimidated as we all put on our pants one leg at a time. Also, with Christ all is possible with the faith the size of a mustard seed. Cooking is like learning piano, one chord at a time, then the music appears.IP: Logged |

Thank you for writing Maria - you're welcome to subscribe to the Christian Chefs newsletter and you will get access to a variety of benefits, such as the option to connect with other Christian cooks & chefs in your area. You can post here or use the "contact us" form on the left if you have any questions about this. You can also look into the upcoming Christian Culinary Institute, which will likely be starting here in Oregon in the next couple of years.

Wow you make me think! First time...was when I was asked to partner in a restaurant and my position would be Chef. It was in a way "Free-ing" Before I was going from position to position watching Chefs, learning, and doing a number of Jobs...then all of a sudden the opportunity came and I knew I was prepared for the tasks at hand. Now this wasn't a 5 star place, or even any of the kitchens I had worked in...it was small bare minimal equipment, and no budget for equipment save smallwares. The main new challenge was actually being the Boss...I had supervisory experience but limited...I had filled in for Chef but still it was different. Confidence manifested and I was amazed and thankful that God had once again...and still does remind me that He really LOves me....Now I was a bit in rebellion but I always felt Him with me...so thank you for making me remember the first time..and ultimately to remember my First Love... God Bless and Happy Thanksgiving to Him!------------------ Hungry for Him, Leo Griego Member Support 2 Cor 4:7 IP: Logged | |
