What brand of mechanical portion scales does everyone like? Any preference for a digital kitchen scale?

Hi - I have two. One is a digital receiving scale accurate to .2lb up to 150lb - that I got from www.uline.com. The other is an ounce scale which is good to 7lb, accurate to 1/8 oz. I just got a cheap home-style one, but it's worked great for me for years with only one change of batteries - Salter brand (I don't remember where I got it).

Thanks, Ira. I saw Salter brand scales on http://www.oldwillknottscales.com/ . I found a 15-pound capacity digital in .1-ounce increments for $35. That'll be much better than using my 2-pound mechanical portion scale for baking. The larger capacity scale will hold more flour at a time.

One more vote for salter, which are available at most Bed Bath & Beyond or linens and things, Target...

Although most of those are 11lb max. Great for home use.

Empress, how much do those scales cost - there are no prices on your website?
