I know as professionals in the culinary industry, we have a passion, love, and addictive desire to prepare great food. It's in or blood. We love it. I've recently learned that I easily slipped and I found that I have spent a lot more time being passionate about my career than being passionate about God and everything he's done for me. I just wanted to know if as chefs, can we be more passionate about God, and still have the same passion for our craft? ------------------ Tom Dickinson IP: Logged |

Hi Tom! It's good to see that God's at work in and with your life.I think we're able to sincerely love and enjoy both. I love cooking and God. I consider God as my employer, therefore all the work I do is the best I can and whole-heartedly because of it. Looking at it like that is also nice to be able to look at your boss as an equal to you, a person in which God helps you to learn through. Not as a person to be afraid of. I agree though that sometimes I let my priorities slip and start focusing more on my work than God. Reading alot more cookbooks than spending time in devotion and study of God's word. But when my priorities are right, I think this is a wonderful industry to be in to praise God through your work! IP: Logged |

I couldn't agree more...Look at your passion as "yoked" with Jim! Equaly and intimately you will find His passion with Him in your heart from where your pasion arises...through the Jars of Clay that we are...as He works through us molding us as followers..we express Him and His passion going whole heartedly through it all even unto the Cross...so we work towards our goal...To be His Salt and Light to a world that needs him so much... It's all about THE Love! It's all about Jesus... As we are yoked to a job...we find our strength spiritually to express Him through what we do...it is all about being real and being sold out to God...They will know...they will see...and wonder...and when God has you ready you will be able to share Him in a way that will both Glorify God and encourage that person God gave you the divine appointment with...Its an adventure! Rock and Roll! Jesus is the Rock and we ROLL!
