Next question for you all in my job hunt. What is it like working for and with the homeless?

I have a possible position opening that is working for a non-profit restaurant that feeds the homeless downtown. It's not specifically Christian, but definitely based on Christian values: http://www.sistersoftheroad.org

The menu obviously is very basic (one item per day), and the food cost low (about $1.50 food cost for $2.50 meal cost - but since it's nonprofit they get alot of donations too). Most of the workers are homeless and working via a barter system (working for food, not money). I think it's a great thing they have going there, but I'm curious if any of you have experience with anything like that and how it is?

I could really see that as a great learning experience and a great opportunity to teach cooking skills to those who truly need the knowledge. Possibly a great step in God's educating me in preperation of starting the Christian culinary school!
