Any of ya ever heard of a cookie recipe called 123 cookies or something like that. It suppose to be very simple and like a base you can use to make almost any kind of cookies. I think they teach this at the ciaIP: Logged |

Hi Guy I think that you might be thinking of shortbread cookies. I can't be sure of the right formula but I think that it is 1 Lb sugar 2 lb butter and 3 lb flour or some combination of these ingredients. By the way, use powdered sugar. God Bless BryguyIP: Logged |

Hi. I don't remember learning about that at the CIA, but different instructors teach different things. There is a "123" recipe for pate choux - could that have been what you heard? That I do know was taught there. IP: Logged |

1-2-3 DoughThis is a CIA recipe we used at L'Artiste. It's an all-purpose sweet tart dough recipe, and makes a crumbly product. It's fairly obvious where the name of the recipe comes from. It's quick, easy, with no cutting in, and makes as good a tart shell as any recipe. It works well as a cheesecake crust, too, though it would be odd as a replacement for a pie crust. Oh, if you have kids (or adults) who love cookie dough, keep them away from this. 1 c. sugar 2 c. butter, room temperature 3 c. flour 1 egg Combine flour and sugar. Mix in the butter, then the egg, just until the dough holds together. Form into a ball, wrap in Saran wrap, and refrigerate for thirty minutes before using. To use, press (do not roll this dough) into a buttered tart shell. Prick all over with a fork (or fill with beans) and bake at 350 for ten minutes, if using for a baked tart. If the tart is not baked, remove the beans (if you used them) after the initial ten minutes, and bake for an additional twenty minutes (total thirty minutes). copied from/credit too: http://bondcrecipes.blogspot.com/2007/07/pastry-i.html

Do you know guys, out of all the cookies I've come across so far in my life, shortbread is by far the best (I'm not sure if this is totally off topic, but you really got me going when you started up with the shortbread cookies) Bless the World.------------------ christian t shirt IP: Logged |
