Dear General Manager,

The intent of this resume is to apply for the open position your establishment seeks. Because I appreciate your time, I have uniquely designed my resume to make an impact upon you. I trust that you will see that I have experience in many different areas that could prove helpful in your endeavors.

There are several reasons I believe that I am the Chef that you seek. The first and foremost is that I have a passion for culinary arts. The second is because I am interested in having the opportunity to use my talents in this venue. Thirdly, and maybe most importantly, I want to maintain the highest of standards to which your customers have come to expect.

Leadership is a key quality for those dedicated to food service. During my 15 years as a whitewater rafting guide, I was taught several lessons in leadership: Striving to be an example to those around me, inspiring shared goal(s), constantly striving to challenge/enrich the current food industry status quo (simply being the best), enabling others to act with proper training and encouraging my team to succeed. Understanding and practicing these key concepts has given me the tools I needed and employed for success in my educational and professional culinary career.

Please contact me at you earliest convenience to discuss the possibility of our future together.

Sincerely,

Chef Jason Wheeler
