During my 15 years as a whitewater rafting guide, I was taught several lessons in leadership: Striving to be an example to those around me, inspiring shared goal(s), constantly striving to challenge/enrich the current food industry status quo (simply being the best), enabling others to act with proper training and encouraging my team to succeed. Understanding and practicing these key concepts has given me the tools I needed and employed for success in my educational and professional culinary career.
