Hi all: As some may know, I am searching for a position as chef or head cook for a summer camp in the western US for the 2009 season. I frequently review the job openings on this board and elsewhere in the Internet. (In fact, I've already applied to one position listed on the job board.) I'm specifically looking for a camp where I can establish a long-term relationship over the next 5 to 10 years. I am available for fulltime employment from approximately May 24 to August 15, 2009, but can also assist with special events during the off-season. I will email my resume to any interested employers. With almost 4 decades in the industry, I will bring passion for cooking to the plate and enjoy pleasing campers with quality meals that remind them of home and family. My team-oriented approach to leadership will ensure a smooth-running kitchen and dining room. I share a love for the outdoors with you and your staff and will bring extensive outdoor cooking experience, including Dutch oven, barbecue grill and campfire cooking. As a talented cook who specializes in wholesome, home-cooked meals, I enjoy teaching others how to cook and plan meals. PLease email me if you have any leads or are interested in considering me for a position. I appreciate all leads. God Bless, Steven Karoly IP: Logged |

Hello. I will pray for employment for you. Two places I can think of off hand...The first is Cannon Beach Conference Center (Northern Oregon Coast). I heard a rumor that they're in need of a chef. The second is that Calvary Chapel Conference Center in Murrieta California is almost always looking for kitchen help. They have a sister-camp up in the mountains too, Twin Peaks Conference Center, which is much more seasonal. God bless, and I pray this helps. IP: Logged |

Thanks, Ira. I looked at their website. They're looking for a full-time, year-round cook right now. I'm not ready to move to Oregon yet (as attractive as an escape from California appeals!). I need to stay close to the grandkids. I've got the site bookmarked ... Steve IP: Logged |

Thanks, Ira. I'm keeping the location confidential for the moment. Although I haven't been offered the job yet, it was a very good interview. I was pleased and am confident I'll get a fair shake. It's a head cook position at a Northern California camp. IP: Logged |
